Having your very own YouTube Channel is pack with benefits for the internet user. Your own YouTube Channel connects you with new and old friends, advertise, upload your own videos, get lots of subscribers (subscribers are people who like your video and when you put out another video YouTube notifies your subscribers), leave comments on other YouTube videos, learn and share information. I have been a member with YouTube for 4 years, my life has been enriched and educated on many topics. This is my first blog and I want to show you how to create your own YouTube Channel.
Step 1 : Locate YouTube Website
Open your web browser and type in the URL www.YouTube.com to navigate to the YouTube website. If you have a google account you can sign into YouTube with that account information. If you don’t have Google account one will be created through your YouTube account. In this blog I will show the user how to create a YouTube Channel without a Goggle account.
Step 2: If you don’t have a Google account
If you don’t have a Google account no problem. On YouTube website, in the top right corner of the webpage click the Create Account link. This link will take you to Create a New Google Account registration form.

Step 3: Fill out Form completely
Google will verify the accounts information and create the account.
Step 5: Return to YouTube home page
Return to the YouTube homepage and click the link on the far right corner that says “Sign In“. Type in your Email or YouTube username and password, click on “Sign In” again.
Step 6: Upload Your Video
Click the “Upload” in the upper right hand corner on YouTube home page, to add a video to your account. Upload the video pre-recorded from your webcam or other recording devices.
Step 7: Upload page
You will be directed to an upload option page. On this page you can become a Partner with YouTube, Select files from your computer, Upload multiple files and Record from your webcam.
Step 8: Upload complete (takes 2 to 5 minutes)
Once your upload is complete, type in:
- Title (name your YouTube video)
- Description (a summary of what your YouTube video is about)
- Tags (tags will help people find you ex. your YouTube video is “How to Grow tomatoes” your tags would be tomato, grow, garden, etc.)
- Set your Privacy and Publishing Settings and
- Category (comedy, business, entertainment, etc.)*
*Every time you enter information YouTube autosaves
Click on the arrow pointing up after username at the top of the screen, in the drop down box choose My Channel and you will be taken to your YouTube Channel. You do not need to sign up for a channel it is created automatically for you. Once on your channel, copy the URL to give to friends, family, customers, etc. (Tip Ask family, friends, co-workers and other students to subscribe to you. The more subscribers you have, the more exposure.
